On November 7, 2024, as part of the National Defense Education Week, the High School of Education Sciences (HES) collaborated with the fire police force to organize a highly informative and practical fire safety training and practice session for students. The session not only equipped the HES "warriors" with knowledge about fire prevention and firefighting but also helped them develop skills for emergency evacuation, self-protection, and protecting others in the event of a fire.
Key highlights of the session:
* Theoretical learning:
1. Identifying potential fire hazards and risks, and the nature of fire and explosions.
2. Fire prevention measures.
3. Firefighting skills in case of fire or accident at home, during leisure activities, and in the school.
4. Evacuation techniques for various fire and accident scenarios.
5. Introduction to fire safety equipment: fire extinguishers, safety ropes, and fire hoses.
* Practical training:
1. Hands-on practice using fire extinguishers to put out simulated fires.
2. Familiarization with fire hoses, their operation, and techniques for water-based firefighting.
3. Practicing emergency evacuation using a safety rope from a high floor.
All students participated in the session with a serious, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude.
The fire safety training session has equipped HESers with invaluable knowledge and skills, helping them confidently handle fire and explosion emergencies, and contributing to the safety of themselves, their families, and the community.
